About AIT
The Italian scientific society for the study of the thyroid gland and its diseases.
Established in 2006 on the initiative of Prof. Aldo Pinchera, the Italian Thyroid Association (AIT ETS) is a non-profit scientific society dedicated to the interdisciplinary study of the thyroid gland and its diseases, open to all scholars and experts in the field.
The Association is a meeting point for specialists and general practitioners who care for patients with thyroid diseases, and a vehicle for education and for the dissemination of scientific and clinical knowledge.
AIT was incorporated by public deed on 15 December 2006. It is a registered Third Sector organisation (ETS), the Italian legal status for non-profit bodies, governed by the Italian Third Sector Code.
What we do
- The annual National Congress, with symposia, keynote lectures and research by young investigators.
- Thyroid Fridays, an accredited webinar series for continuing medical education.
- The AIT Preceptorship for endocrinology residents.
- Research awards and travel grants for young researchers.
- Guidelines, joint statements and awareness projects with other scientific societies.
