Founded in 2006 by Prof. Aldo Pinchera, AIT ETS brings together specialists and physicians working on thyroid diseases. It promotes research, education and continuing scientific development.
About AIT
Established in 2006 on the initiative of Prof. Aldo Pinchera, the Italian Thyroid Association (AIT ETS) is a non-profit scientific society dedicated to the interdisciplinary study of the thyroid gland and its diseases, open to all scholars and experts in the field.
The Association is a meeting point for specialists and general practitioners who care for patients with thyroid diseases, and a vehicle for education and for the dissemination of scientific and clinical knowledge.

In memory of Prof. Paolo Beck Peccoz
Dear Members, Prof. Paolo Beck Peccoz left us far too soon after a particularly aggressive illness. The AIT Presidency and all its members remember him as a great physician-scientist, whose insight and initiative made him one of the world's leading experts in rare disorders of the thyroid axis.

He built a network of international collaborations that led to scientific results of the highest level. Paolo was a Founding Member and President of AIT and the first editor-in-chief of the European Journal of Endocrinology. He was also, and perhaps above all, a friend to many members, always ready to encourage and generously support anyone who sought his advice.
During his long career at the University of Milan, Paolo trained several generations of endocrinologists and thyroidologists with great enthusiasm, sharing in their professional successes and much more. Those who knew him remember a creative, brilliant and unconventional person, a natural showman who loved knowledge and Science, but also life and fun.
AIT embraces his many students and Anna Spada, his life partner.

Membership is open to specialists, general practitioners and all scholars of the thyroid. 2026 fees: €60 full member, €30 junior member under 35, €10 resident under 35. Fees can be paid online by PayPal or bank transfer.
